The Amazon Eero is definitely one of the most popular mesh systems today. But with all the Eero models, are they really worth the hype?
If you want something cheap that serves well, the Eero 6 would be an excellent model. But if you want something faster and more advanced, Eero 6+ and Eero Pro 6 are worth considering.
Getting Eero Pro 6E is worth it if you have a lot of 6GHz devices that could benefit from it. But if you don’t, we don’t really recommend it. Wi-Fi 6E is powerful, but the 6GHz band has a limited range.
From its compact and minimalist design to its advanced features, Eero is undoubtedly a terrific investment for your smart home.
Let’s dive deeper into each model with our Eero review. Let’s go.

Performance
Eero Pro 6
Eero Pro 6 has a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and 1024MB RAM memory. If you ask me, a powerful processor and bigger storage are essential in every mesh system.
While all the eero models are good performers, the Eero Pro 6 is the best of the bunch. Although it doesn’t offer the same speed and coverage as the Eero Pro 6E, it has a more powerful processor and larger memory.
It only means that the mesh router has a higher capacity. Plus, it can store more data for any firmware updates.
This is incredibly useful if you have a lot of devices connected to your mesh network, as it can help ensure that everyone stays connected and that your network remains stable.
Eero 6
The Eero 6 is the least powerful of the four models, but it’s still a great choice for small to mid-sized homes or apartments.
Eero 6 has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM. Additionally, it supports 1,800 Mbps of internet speeds. That’s fast enough to manage up to 50 devices simultaneously!
It may not be as powerful as the Eero 6+ or Eero Pro 6, but it can still handle multiple devices and traffic with ease.
Eero 6+
Eero 6+ almost has the same specs as Eero 6. It has 512 MB of RAM and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. What makes a big difference, though, is the speed.
Eero 6+ supports 3,000 Mbps of speeds, which is almost double the speeds of Eero 6. Another main difference between the two would be your personal needs and preferences.
If multiple devices like smart home devices and mobile devices, we highly recommend that you use an Eero 6+.
Eero Pro 6E
The Eero Pro 6E is the most advanced Eero model. Even though Eero Pro 6 outperformed it performance-wise, this is still a killer beast.
The 1 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM lets the mesh system manage multiple devices simultaneously. To top it off, it supports Wi-Fi 6E, which offers faster speeds than Wi-Fi 6.
Both Eero Pro 6 and Eero Pro 6E are tri-band mesh routers. But, compared to Eero Pro 6, the Eero Pro 6 has a 2.4 GHz band, 5 GHz band, and a third 6 GHz band.
So whether you’re streaming or playing games, you’ll still get to enjoy an uninterrupted and lag-free experience.
What’s different about the Eero Pro 6E is the 2.5 Gigabit ethernet port. This is excellent for expanding your wired connections. You can enjoy the most out of the 5,400 Mbps speeds the mesh router offers.
Eero 6 Extender
The Eero 6 Extender solves any dead spot problems. So if your room is in a dead spot, getting an Eero 6 extender is a more practical option. It’s cheaper and way more convenient than buying a separate Eero node.
It covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. and supports 500 Mbps. If you ask me, that’s more than enough to cover your room! Plus, you can still enjoy fast speeds whether you’re playing online games or simply browsing the internet.
Eero Beacon
The Eero Beacon is a great extender if you’re always on the go. It’s also an excellent choice if you temporarily want internet access in a specific place in your house.
We understand that setting up Eero devices can be a hassle. So in case you want internet in your garage while you try to fix your car, just plug in the Eero Beacon. As long as you have an existing Eero network, you’d be good to go!
It supports 350 Mbps internet speed and covers 1,500 sq. ft. The speed and coverage are very decent, but it only supports Wi-Fi 5. So if you have Wi-Fi 6 devices, you’d probably experience slower internet.
The Eero Beacon is great if you have a lot of older model devices. But if your smart home devices are more modern, then the Eero 6 Extender may be a better option.

When it comes to the physical design, each Eero model has a signature white look. They’re also small and compact, so they blend very well with home decor.
